Beta Glucan Anti Stress Report

"Here is an interesting report published in Sept. 2010 on stress and cancer. I was particularly interested in the blocking of corticosterone and the phagocytosis. This research was done at Louisville University and in Europe. Glucan is the only supplement, a natural one, that I have taken along with my full Budwig protocol for prostate cancer. I took comfort in hearing about this along with what I had already read in researching the Beta Glucan. Below is a link to the report, which I recommend you read, and a short summary for those who don't want to read the research. My Transfer Point Beta Glucan supplier is offering a special now, so I included a link to that at the bottom for anyone interested." don

"Numerous studies (currently more than 5,000 publications) have shown that beta glucans exhibit immune properties, including, antibacterial and anti-tumor activities.
As the glucans are more and more frequently used as an anti-stress agent, the University of Louisville along with the University Hospital Krc, Prague, Czech Republic, compared four commercially important glucans and their effect on stress.
While all four glucans showed some ability to inhibit stress-related inhibition, only glucan #300 from Transfer Point was able to return the phagocytosis to a normal level. Also, Transfer Point glucan #300 was able to completely block the stress-related increase in corticosterone release as well as keeping IL-6 and IL-12 secretion above control (PBS) levels." Stress is a physical, chemical, or emotional factor that causes bodily or mental tension and may be a factor in disease causation. It can be defined as a reation to any stimulus or interference that upsets normal functioning and disturbs mental or physical health. It can be brought on by internal conditions, such as illness, pain, or emotional conflict, or by external circumstances such as a death in the family or financial problems. Even a positive experience-a new marriage-can be a stress provoking event. Currently, between 70 and 80 percent of all visits to physicians are for stress-related disorders. Chronic stress directly affects the immune system, and if not effectively dealt with, can seriously compromise your health.

Along with your first order of Transfer Point Beta Glucan, glucan #300, from www.BakersYeastBetaGlucan.com , you will receive free, the book, "Beta Glucan: Nature's Secret" by Dr. Vaclav Vetvicka, Professor of Pathology at the University of Louisville. In his book, Vetvicka explains how beta glucan can be beneficial against:
  • Chronic diseases
  • Iradiation and/or chemotherapy
  • Infectious diseases
  • High cholesterol
  • Diabetes
  • Wound healing
  • Nonspecific stimulation of defense reactions

In addition to the glucan research, Dr. Vetvicka helped to launch glucan in several countries including the USA, France, Turkey and Czech Republic. Dr. Vetvicka is author and co-author of more than 190 peer-reviewed publications, seven books and five international patents.

A Strong Immune System is the First Line of Defense

A strong immune system is the first line of defense against the daily assaults of stress, poor nutrition, and environmental toxins.

A key to defending our body is making sure our immune system is strong and able to handle what comes it's way. There are supplements on the market that claim to do amazing things, but what you want is something that works. Many dietary supplements include nutrients that are based more on marketing buzz than they are on hard science. And even when they are based on science, many formulas don't include enough of the active nutrient to make a difference. You need a supplement that is backed by solid science - not anecdotal evidence, old wives tales, or flawed research.

We have found that Transfer Point's Beta Glucan has the science and research behind it's product, every single batch of Beta Glucan that Transfer Point produces is tested for purity and quality. Each batch is tested by a widely respected, independent, third party laboratory, and the certificate of analysis is printed on every bottle.

Transfer Point's Beta-1,3D Glucan is derived from the cell walls of baker's yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) and contains over 93% pure Beta 1,3/1,6 glucan carbohydrate complex, with low fat and protein content. Transfer Point's Beta Glucan has been subjected to rigorous studies at numerous universities (Auburn University, Brown University, Cornell University, University of Louisville, University of Massachusetts, University of Minnesota) and has been scientifically proven to maintain and support a healthy immune response. On the other hand, glucans derived from barley, oats, or other grains have been shown to be ineffective as an immune modulator.

The immune-enhancing properties of yeast cell walls were reported in 1939, but it wasn't until the 1960's that researchers identified Beta 1, 3D glucan as the key. Since then, scientists at some of the world's pre-eminent universities and research institutions have conducted more than 800 Beta 1, 3D glucan studies in animals and humans. This research confirms that Beta 1, 3D glucan produces multiple broadscale effects that strengthen the vitality of the immune system.

Dr. Vaclav Vetvicka from the University of Louisville said, "For over 40 years, beta glucans have been thoroughly tested on everything from earthworms to human beings...even plants."

A.J. Lanigan, Manufacturer and Formulator of Transfer Point's Beta Glucan comments, "Nothing can take the place of a healthy immune system. When it functions properly, the body has all the ammunition it needs to ward off disease and combat illness."

Maintaining one's health is critical in periods of stress. The health conscious consumer will know the value of supporting their immune system during these times.
