Beta Glucans and Their Immuno-Modulating Properties

According to Dr. Vaclav Vetvicka beta glucans have very powerful immuno-modulating properties which have been known for over 40 years.

What are beta glucans? Beta glucans are polysaccharides present in a number of cereal grains such as barley, oats, rye, wheat, but also in mushrooms, algae, bakers yeast, and even bacteria.

What is meant by "immuno-modulating properties"? Dr. Vetvicka explains that the beta glucan makes the immune system work at its best, as it will correctly identify your "non self" cells and destroy them. In regards to cancer cells, sometimes our immune system does not always recognize them, due to them being able to disguise themselves. Beta glucan helps the immune system to identify them and destroy them. At the same time, the immune system will be able to recognize your "self" cells, and not attack them.
